The Black Wall Street Festival in New Haven once again proved why it’s one of the most anticipated community events of the year. This year, it truly brought the 🔥🔥🔥🔥. From the food to the culture to the energy of networking and unity, everything was top tier. Every year this festival grows, and it’s hard to imagine how much bigger and better it will be in 2026, but one thing is certain: the future of this movement is strong.
WBG in the Heart of the Festival

Wealth Beacon Group Foundation (WBG) was proud to be right in the middle of it all. Coming off our recent feature on NBC CT 30’s Good News segment watch here, the festival became the perfect opportunity to connect with the community, highlight our mission, and celebrate the progress we’re making in housing, financial empowerment, and wraparound services.

One of the most powerful moments at our booth was welcoming our tenant, Tasha Wilson, who stopped by to share exciting news. She has officially launched her own business, Twstd Stytch LLC. Her creativity is already making waves, blending her cooking talents with her unique distressed clothing designs. Seeing Tasha step into entrepreneurship was living proof of what WBG stands for: helping families move from survival mode into stability and success.
Her journey is a reminder that when families are given the right support and opportunities, new doors open. What started as a housing placement has now blossomed into a platform for ownership, creativity, and growth. She is proof that stability is the soil where dreams can take root and flourish. Tasha’s success story shows the ripple effect of WBG’s mission, stable housing builds confidence, confidence builds vision, and vision builds legacy.
Festival Vibes: A Family Cookout with All the Fixings

The festival atmosphere felt like the ultimate family cookout, overflowing with music, laughter, food, and an undeniable sense of pride in Black excellence. Everywhere you turned there was joy, connection, and a sense of belonging that can’t be manufactured. The air carried the aroma of soul food, the rhythm of live beats, and voices rising together in celebration. From Boots on the Ground to the Electric Slide, people were line dancing, laughing, and having fun as if the whole city had come together for one giant reunion. Slay Washington, Frank, Brandy, and Erik “Bigge” Green kept the crowd hyped all day with their energy and hosting, making sure the vibe never dropped. They didn’t just entertain, they set the tone and carried the spirit of unity through the entire event.
We walked the festival grounds and soaked up everything:
• Food from Dope and Delicious, Sandra’s Soul Food, and more
• Sweet tea magic from Cerella’s Sweet Teas — the Mango Peach Sweet Tea was 🔥
• Oils from Kenzie Kare that were as fresh as the vibe
• Over 250 small businesses represented across the day

It wasn’t just about products and food. The networking was on another level. We connected with community leaders like Michael Piscitelli, Economic Development Administrator for the City of New Haven, and JR Torchon of Let’s All Win Team at EXP Realty. Organizations such as ConnCORP, New Haven Economic Development, and FaithActs were also out in full force, showing that this festival isn’t only a cultural highlight but also an economic engine driving opportunity forward.
Adding to the energy, 94.3 WYBC was in the building with DeDe in the Morning, bringing the airwaves to life and keeping the crowd moving. Their presence reminded everyone that the spirit of Black Wall Street isn’t just felt on the streets of New Haven, it’s broadcasted across the city for all to hear.
Gratitude and Community Love

We want to send a special thank you to Breed Ent, Aaron Rodgers (YA), and Rashad Johnson (Snacks) for their continued support and love for this community. Their presence added even more energy to an already unforgettable day. We also want to thank them for all the help they have given WBG, standing with us as we continue to grow and serve.
Most importantly, we are grateful for the countless Black businesses and vendors who showed up, set up, and showed out. The resilience, creativity, and excellence on display at the Black Wall Street Festival is the exact reason WBG does this work, because when communities rise together, families thrive. This festival is proof that investing in our people is investing in a future where everyone has the chance to shine.
