On a bright and windy Sunday afternoon, the Quinnipiac River Park came alive for the 13th Annual New Haven Family Stroll and Festival, hosted by the Friends Center for Children. Families, educators, and community organizations from across the city gathered to celebrate early childhood education and connect over shared goals for a stronger New Haven.
Among the many tables lining the riverside path, Wealth Beacon Group Foundation proudly showed up to spread awareness about our mission to combat homelessness and empower families with long-term stability.
🏡 Housing With Purpose: WBG’s Commitment to the Community
Though not an official event partner, WBG was grateful to be provided a table to engage with dozens of families and community members throughout the day. The table featured highlights from our core programs, including:
• Housing With a Purpose Campaign focused on helping families move from shelters into safe, affordable homes
• SHINE Academy offering financial education on credit, budgeting, and long-term planning
• Welcome Home Campaign providing fully furnished apartments with dignity and comfort for every new resident
Throughout the day, WBG shared resources, answered questions, and spoke with passionate families looking to support or join the movement.

💖 A Little Helper With a Big Heart

Helping lead the charge at the table were WBG Co-Founders Amir and Yvette Glenn, joined by a very special helper, their daughter Amani.
Amani was a bright light from the moment she arrived. With a confident smile and welcoming spirit, she helped pass out flyers and greet families as they stopped by. Her energy reminded us all of the legacy WBG is building.
A volunteer said it best, “Amani showed us that legacy does not start later. It starts now. She was a little beacon in her own right.”
🤝 Connecting With Community Leaders
The event also gave WBG a chance to connect with other leaders and organizations that are shaping a stronger New Haven, including:

• SAGE Civic Institute is a bold and visionary independent school reimagining what education can be. Founded with a mission to restore the pillars of Science, Arts, History, Government, and Economics, SAGE offers a deeply personalized, tuition-based learning experience for students ages 6 through 17.
SAGE is more than a school, it is a movement to empower young minds with the knowledge and critical thinking skills they need to lead, serve, and thrive. Rooted in civic literacy and holistic development, the curriculum is designed to help students understand their roles as informed, engaged citizens in both local and global communities.
Led by a team of dedicated educators and cultural stewards, SAGE is especially committed to serving BIPOC families by providing accessible, affirming education where every child is truly seen, valued, and uplifted. Their environment prioritizes identity, agency, and purpose. Building not just scholars, but leaders.
At the New Haven Family Stroll, SAGE’s presence was a powerful reminder that educational equity is essential to building strong communities.

We were also proud to see Mayor Justin Elicker in attendance with his daughters, enjoying the festivities and showing real commitment to community. The United Way of Greater New Haven also had a strong presence, alongside dozens of other nonprofits and advocates working to make our city a better place for all.
🌱 One Table. One Mission. One Movement.

For Wealth Beacon Group Foundation, this event was not just about visibility. It was about community. It was about sparking new conversations and building trust with families who deserve more than a roof over their heads.
It was also a beautiful reminder that this work is generational. That a young girl helping at a table can inspire real change. That one afternoon in the park can turn into a lifetime of impact.
